Museo Civico ArcheologicoMuseo Civico Archeologico

A small and interesting museum that unveils Milan during the time of the Roman Empire. A small city that suddenly became the capital of the empire in the fourth century A.D.

36 Trivulzio'cupCom with us to visit the Civico Museo Archeologico's collections, a typical example of the archaeological heritage in Milan: you could find some more fashionable locations than our city but we have some extraordinary treasures, among the most important works of art in the entire world.

The museum's collections preserve the Trivulzio's cup, a rare example of intact diatret glass from the Roman times and the patera from Parabiago, beautiful example of silverware of the late Roman Empire. We shall point out also the collections of art from Gandhara, the region between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The buildings themselves of the museum are really interesting being constructed inside the structures of the Roman Circus.

The entire neighbourhood is filled with remains from the Roman time, we can help you to discover the ruins among the houses of the city centre.

Next to the museum is located the church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, a jewel of the Milanese Renaissance you cannot miss. We would arrange a combined tour of the museum and the church, an incredible voyage from the Roman times to the Renaissance!
